This program is ideal for individuals who want to walk with others, begin and/or continue a walking routine, discover great walking trails nearby, or are just looking for something new to do during the day! The walking club is a non-competitive group that encourages healthy lifestyles, exercise, being in nature, and socializing with others. Whitpain Walkers will meet Wednesdays and Fridays at 9am. Come when you can!This program is for adults 18+ and open to all levels and abilities. Leashed (friendly!) dogs permitted on most walks, unless otherwise stated.An email is sent to registered participants Monday or Tuesday each week detailing the exact meeting location for that particular week. Please make sure you "opt-in" to receive general email announcements from the parks and rec department.

The Soccer Starters program is aimed at providing best-in-class soccer training for your kids. A perfect introduction to soccer basics, children learn the fundamental skills needed to progress as players, while gaining valuable experience in teamwork, sportsmanship, and physical fitness. Each player receives a t-shirt and certificate of completion.Masks are required for all participants and parents.Participants should wear sneakers, shin guards, and comfortable clothes, and bring a bottle of water.

Instructor: Marsha Gayl, Registered Horticultural Therapist (HTR)Marsha is recognized as a Registered Horticultural Therapist by the American Horticultural Therapy Association.  Marsha developed her expertise as a student at Temple University and by working at Bryn Mawr Rehabilitation Hospital, where she utilized physical and occupational therapy modalities to restore patients’ cognitive skills. She also has developed a lecture to educate about the adaptive tools that are available and proper body mechanics so gardeners can continue to do what they love. Marsha provides Horticultural therapy programming for senior living communities, floral design programs for the general public, and gardening and nature programs for children, as well as currently runs a program at Belmont Hospital Northeast.

The Whitpain Walkers is a weekly walking club that meets at various walking trails in the area. This program is ideal for individuals who want to walk with others, begin and/or continue a walking routine, discover great walking trails nearby, or are just looking for something new to do during the day! The walking club is a non-competitive group that encourages healthy lifestyles, exercise, being in nature, and socializing with others. Whitpain Walkers will meet Wednesdays and Fridays at 9am. Come when you can!This program is for adults 18+ and open to all levels and abilities. Leashed (friendly!) dogs permitted on most walks, unless otherwise stated.An email is sent to registered participants Monday or Tuesday each week detailing the exact meeting location for that particular week. Please make sure you "opt-in" to receive general email announcements from the parks and rec department.

The Soccer Starters program is aimed at providing best-in-class soccer training for your kids. A perfect introduction to soccer basics, children learn the fundamental skills needed to progress as players, while gaining valuable experience in teamwork, sportsmanship, and physical fitness. Each player receives a t-shirt and certificate of completion.Masks are required for all participants and parents.Participants should wear sneakers, shin guards, and comfortable clothes, and bring a bottle of water.

JTT (ages 9-10) classes are designed to provide additional practice in a performance environment to prepare for 2021 Junior Team Tennis season.Participants gain internal match play experience while making new tennis friends! 9:00 AM - 3:00 PM    American Red Cross Babysitting Course - Babysitting Training
This certification course provides teens with the confidence and skills to care for youngsters. Prospective employers will be happy to hire babysitters who have acquired this official recognition. You will also learn basic first aid and have an introduction to CPR. We will discuss etiquette for being home alone, while caring for youngsters. We will discuss professionalism, safety, age-appropriate activities, basic care, and first aid. Upon completion of the course, you will receive an ARC Certification Card. You must attend the entire course, pass the evaluations, and show the maturity to properly care for children. Please bring a lunch, pencil and snack.Masks must be worn during the program and participant temperatures will be taken prior to entry. A mask will also be worn by the instructor and social distancing will be in place.  Maximum of 16 participants per class.

This camp will focus on learning new skills, games, strategies, and good sportsmanship. Campers will participate in a variety of fun games and activities which will help them develop the fundamentals of the game of basketball!  All campers will receive an i9 Sports participation shirt during the first session, snacks, and trophies will be given out on the last day of camp during our end of week celebration!
