General Information
Wissahickon Park opened this summer and features two age-appropriate playgrounds, basketball courts, a grass volleyball court, a walking trail, and additional parking. The park was an active Township park in the West Ambler community for decades before it closed in 1984 due to asbestos contamination. After years of remediation by federal regulators, significant grant awards by the federal and state government totaling well over $2 million, and a sizable contribution from the Township’s budget totaling well over $1 million, the reimagined park was finally able to reopen.
