Earth Day
Whitpain Township Parks and Recreation will be hosting different events throughout the week to celebrate Earth Day!

All events are free and open to the public, with the exception of the Tree Giveaway, which is only for Township residents.

Crossways Trail Walk
  • Thursday, April 22, 5pm
  • Meet at trailhead parking at MCCC (Cathcart and Morris Roads)
  • Enter MCCC from Morris Road entrance, turn left and proceed on inner drive to White House on left. Parking lot is on the right
  • 2 Mile out and back walk
  • Wear sturdy shoes
  • We will divide participants into 2 groups - faster paced and slower paced walkers
  • Leashed dogs welcome (no retractable leashes and leashes can not be over 6'; please bring own waste bags)
  • Trail is suitable for strollers (sections are grass and stone dust)
  • Rain Date: Friday, April 23, 5pm

Shade Tree Giveaway
  • Sunday, April 25, 8am
  • For Whitpain Residents Only. Proof of residency required.
  • Trees are available on a first come, first served basis
  • Available trees:
  • Sugar Maple
  • River Birch
  • White Oak
  • Swamp White Oak
  • Princeton Elm
  • Redbud
  • American Plum
  • Red Maple
  • Swamp White Oak

Park Clean-Up
  • Sunday, April 25, 12pm-2pm
  • Chance to enjoy the outdoors and walk mown trails at Prophecy Creek Park
  • Meet in Prophecy Creek Park parking lot
  • Bring gardening or work gloves
  • Wear long sleeve shirt, pants, and boots
  • All other equipment provided
  • Help clear small limbs, branches, and litter
